Step into the elegant world of Argentine Tango and join us for an evening of connection, music and movement at Wellspring. Whether you're completely new to Tango or looking to develop your skills, this welcoming event offers the perfect opportunity to experience one of the world's most expressive and captivating partner dances.
The evening begins with a beginner-friendly guided class where you'll learn the foundations of Argentine Tango, including posture, connection, walking patterns and simple partner movements. Following the class, you'll have the chance to practise your new skills and enjoy a relaxed social dance session in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
Come on your own, with friends or with a partner, everyone is welcome. Expect beautiful music, expert guidance and an enjoyable evening of dancing, connection and community.
Steve Donkin
YOUR TEACHER
Steve Donkin is an Argentine Tango teacher with over 15 years of experience, bringing a wealth of knowledge, passion, and creativity to his teaching. He previously ran the well-regarded Total Tango classes in Leicester prior to Covid, alongside hosting popular monthly social dances.
Beginning his journey in traditional Argentine Tango, Steve has gradually expanded into alternative tango styles, blending solid technical foundations with a more modern and creative approach. This combination allows him to deliver classes that are both fun and informative, helping dancers develop strong technique while building confidence on the dance floor.
Steve currently teaches weekly Tuesday classes in support of Personality Disorders UK, raising funds while fostering a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment. His sessions are designed to support both complete beginners and experienced dancers, encouraging progression at all levels.
His passion for tango extends far beyond the local scene. Steve regularly travels across the Midlands, throughout the UK, and internationally, continually developing both his dancing and DJing. As a DJ, he is known for pushing musical boundaries, carefully curating sets that create an atmosphere that keeps dancers engaged and on the floor all night long.
