The Sound of Yoga
Breath - Vibration - Resonance

An immersive half-day retreat experience exploring movement, sound, resonance and deep rest.

Join Liz of reaLIZe Wellbeing for a unique afternoon inspired by the practices of Nāda Yoga (the yogic science of sound) within the Gitananda yoga tradition, where breath, movement and sound are woven together to create an experience that is both grounding and uplifting.

Through breath-led movement, vocal sound practices, guided exploration and immersive relaxation, we'll discover how sound can support focus, presence, energy, connection and deep rest. Rather than simply listening to sound, you'll be invited to experience how vibration and resonance can be felt throughout the body and integrated into yoga practice.

Together we'll explore:

• Breath-led movement and conscious breathing practices
• Sound and vibrational techniques within yoga
• Shared sound practices from the Gitananda yogic tradition
• Gentle exploration of mantra, kīrtan and bhajan
• A full-length immersive sound bath for deep relaxation and restoration

Many of the practices integrate sound directly into movement and posture, creating an experience that can feel simultaneously energising, centring and deeply immersive. Working with rhythm, pulsation and resonance, we'll explore the powerful relationship between breath, sound and awareness.

This afternoon offers a rare opportunity to experience traditional yogic approaches to sound in an accessible and welcoming environment. Some practices will incorporate Sanskrit mantra and classical yogic sounds as part of an authentic exploration of Nāda Yoga, while remaining open and accessible to everyone, regardless of experience.

Whether you're completely new to yoga, curious about sound-based practices, or looking to deepen an existing practice, all are welcome.

No singing experience is required.

YOUR TEACHER

Liz is a Yoga teacher, Yoga therapist, and sound therapist whose work is rooted in the
Gitananda lineage of Rishiculture Ashtanga Yoga, founded by Swami Gitananda Giri and
carried forward through the teachings of Dr Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani.

She has undertaken many hours of training within many Yoga schools - in the Gitananda
lineage alone she has completed 500 hours in Yoga Chikitsā (Yoga Therapy) and 500
hours of specialist training in teaching Prāṇāyāma and many further hours specialising in
some of the more esoteric branches of the Yogic arts. Liz is also a Diploma-qualified
Sound Therapist having studied with The British Academy of Sound Therapy, integrating
sound as a supportive modality for relaxation, integration, and nervous system settling.

Her teaching is informed by classical Yogic and Ayurvedic principles and emphasises
conscious breath, embodied awareness, and experiential understanding of prāṇa. The
focus is on cultivating vitality, coherence, and self-awareness through traditional yogic
methods, rather than approaching yoga as a fitness-based practice. Her teaching aligns
deeply with a cultural awareness and appreciation for the origins of yoga, this is
celebrated through Sanskrit terminology and mantra that is woven through her teaching.

Liz is also trained as a Level 2 Omni practitioner, working with subtle energies to promote
healing and support inner clarity, energetic sensitivity, and integration. Omni is a “hands
on” complementary technique which can support traditional approaches to health
management.

Liz continues to study and refine her understanding of Yoga as a complete system,
allowing depth of training to quietly inform her teaching without overwhelming the
practitioner.
